newfta join:2009-02-20 El Monte, CA 1 edit | Dry Loop DSL in ATT area? I looking into dslxtreme for my residence and I do not have a landline there. I used the site's prequalify tool, and checked the box 'I do not have a telephone #', and the tool returned that the address 'successfully prequalified' for dsl service at different rates/speeds. At the very bottom of the 'successful prequalify' page was this statement "YOU'VE PREQUALIFIED FOR SERVICE WITHOUT A PHONE LINE:..."
I filled out the contact form, directed to Sales, and was issued Ticket ID: [Removed]. I have not received a response from sales yet.
So is it possible now, to subscribe to dslextreme from ATT territory with a dryloop?
Area is Santa Clarita, 91350.
thanks.

The box you checked is for if you 'don't have or KNOW the telephone number' - for example, if you know you're planning to move to a new address, but aren't sure what phone number you're going to have once you do move, the prequal system lets you at least predict what speeds will be available in the area, so you can decide if that will suit your needs. We wouldn't be able to actually process your order until we have a valid phone number, so you'd need to sign up for a phone number with AT&T first.
(The full statement is, "YOU'VE PREQUALIFIED FOR SERVICE WITHOUT A PHONE LINE: For more details and information on this process please click here." and the link takes you to »www.dslextreme.com/support/kb/or···vice-faq where it mentions dryloop is only available in Verizon areas. If/when we get access to dryloop in AT&T areas, we'll update the page accordingly, and I'll be sure to let everyone here know)
Btw, normally don't recommend posting personal information like ticket numbers in posts (better to send that in PM). Since you did, though, and I've answered your question here, I'm going to go ahead and close that ticket for you. If you've got any more questions, feel free to ask (if it's a billing question, probably better to ask Sales like you did last time; anything of a more technical nature, definitely send my way). |
