My mom decided to read the books between the last season and this upcoming season, she's just reached book 5 and asked me something...
If those who read the book will remember, in book 5 (Chapter 65) Cersei is shaved and paraded naked from the Great Sept to the Red Keep. I have doubts on them showing that exact situation on the TV show. However, I thought I would ask the opinion of those who have read the books as well. Do you think it will happen as written, or do you think they will alter the scene to make it more TV friendly?
As they adjusted the ages of the TV characters vs the books, I think they would have Cersei walk nude. They could easily use a body double if Lena Headey doesn't want to do nusity. I seem to recall she showed her boobs in 300, but again, tat could have been a CGI effect or body double She's had a body double before in GOT
quote:Headey revealed that her fully-clad sex scene was in fact done by a ... body double (the actress being pregnant at the time%u2014except for the close-ups, obviously%u2014see exhibit A above).
Oops! Sorry to burst your bubble on that one, guys and gals.
But then she added:
I've said from day one that I've got no problem with nudity. I've done it throughout my career. But for this character, it's been better for her regality and her feistiness to not bare her flesh until she has to. When it's out of her control. And if that ever happens, it won't be Cersei being seductive or sexy. She'll be stripped. That kind of a scene will have more power if it's not an everyday occurrence. I can't wait for that.
So it's anyone's guess. -- Is a person a failure for doing nothing? Or is he a failure for trying, and not succeeding at what he is attempting to do? What did you fail at today?.
Cersei was basically running the kingdom for Tommen, and her administrative acumen in the face of crushing debt was abysmal, and there was a lot of corruption, too. One of the biggest debtors was "The Faith," the predominant religion in Westeros, the one that worships seven gods. She allows The Faith to resurrect its military arm as payment of the debt. Religious zealots gather at King's Landing, and The Faith arrests Cersei for adultery (for banging Lancel Lannister, not her brother). -- Leave the gun. Take the cannoli.
