What happens here is that your 2WIRE424 is being clobbered by the overlap from the channel 6 WiFis (I know not yours, but your 2WIRE does need to see all those packets too regardless, if it is on channel 10 - This is what can put that additional burden on your router and slow things down). The only really isolated channels are 1, 6, 11.
Back to recommendations: 1. (simple test) Turn off the 2wirewireless when the performance sucks and see if that helps. 2. (simple) Get off of channel 10. 3. (more involved) Buy a dual band router and use 5.0GHz with your 2wire in bridge more
FYI, in my case, my neighbors were all over the various channels and I had no choice for an isolated band; hence I went with option 3 after dealing with months of option 1. |
