 | [HSI] Very slow internet for 2 weeks I have the 30m service. Everything has been fine for about a year. Every now and then service would get slow during the day but it was always intermittent and would speed to normal 30-40m at night which is when I usually used it, so it was acceptable. For the past 2 to 3 weeks my download has been exactly 2.0m and upload 1 to 2m at all times.
Maybe related, I had an outage about 3 months ago. They replaced the main line a few houses up from mine but have not buried it yet. They still tried to charge me the $45 even though it wasn't near my house (I'm just the one who called) and it takes hours on the phone to get them to remove the charge. That's why I'm always hesitant to call them because it's so much of a hassle. They have had trucks there doing something with the lines and marking it for burial. Could this be the problem or should I do some troubleshooting?

 DoggPremium join:2003-06-11 Belleville, IL | If it's consistently not working properly, call Charter. At minimum, you will be logging the outage occurances and can likely get reimbursed. Charter will then also have a record of the outage dates and times.
In general, a truck roll is not charged to the customer unless the problem is found within their residence. Anything outside the residence is not billable. Also, in most instances, if it's conveinent, deal person to person at your local office. -- Google is your Friend |
