[PBX] analogue and voip pbx running off windows

hi there I've been doing hours of searching but cant seem to find what im looking for.

i want to integrate a PBX system into my network

i want to:
Use my windows server with a PBX software installed,
use the basic analogue phone line attached to the server with a voice modem

the server is connected to my network via a switch, i have 8 spare ethernet ports and want to be able to use them to connect the phones.

what software and hardware would you recommend that will allow me to achieve this

You could run Asterisk or PIAF on a Linux VM. I use VMware to run some of my Linux software on Windows and it works pretty well.

VirtualBox is another option. There's a pre-built appliance that you can play with to see if it meets your needs. For the analog lines, you're going to need one or more external ATAs if you stay on the Windows platform with a non-dedicated Asterisk server.

You could have both FreeSWITCH + FusionPBX (GUI) directly hosted on your Windows server sans a VM and use any SIP ATA devices + your existing analog telephones configured as extensions. Seriously, if you wanna run a PBX system, why not go with a Linux embedded system?

You might also want to consider Grandstream's new UCM6100 PBXs. They are dirt cheap (starting at $264), full-featured, and would eliminate having your phone system tied to any computer.

Exactly, especially if the OP doesn't already have a Windows server running 24/7.

If OP is a tech savvy person, s/he sure can simply build his/her PBX system with a single FXS port under US$30 and it will have more features, too.
