Re: Accessing Wired Network Printer Does printer have its own LCD display that can show or print its network setup, to reveal/confirm its IP address that way?
Is Dlink a wifi router once reconfigured to be a switch or WAP (a LAN port ties it to 3800 LAN port)? Are you using its wifi or 3800's or both for your wireless devices?
On 3800 webgui, home page and settings/LAN/status, should have table of all devices. If 3800's own IP is 192.168.1.254, and you're using just the 3800 subnet (Dlink not a 'router' with its own subnet) your ordinary wired and wireless devices should also be shown as 192.168.1.x. Does the printer show up there, with such an IP? |

 | The Dlink is a switch and I tried pinging directly to the IP address assigned by the Gateway and it still not recognized by the Wireless connected Computer. The computer that is wired has NO problems getting to the network printer. |

Are there any other hardwired network devices which the wireless devices don't recognize? |

 | No VPN/tunnels setup on wireless PC, no cellular NIC enabled, right? It's not on neighbor's wifi by mistake?
Post 'ipconfig /all' (if Windows) from both wired/wireless computers for comparison?
On 3800 settings/Diag/IPutilities, verify RG itself can ping all/every device: printer and both wired/wireless computers. All three are listed with status=Active on home-page device list of 3800?
Assume you tried power-cycling among other things, the Dlink switch since the RG FW update? As far as you know, there's no MAC cloning funny business going on anywhere? |
