TWC NYC (Brooklyn) & Tivo Roamio - Guidance Please

Has anyone successfully obtained TWC service in New York City (specifically, Brooklyn) on a Tivo Roamio? If so, what equipment did you need from TWC? I have basic cable (from the wall; no box) + a Tivo Series 2 Dual Tuner. My Tivo Series 2 DT was rendered into a single tuner by TWC's recent switch to an all-digital signal in Brooklyn. Besides losing the second tuner, the digital signal is lousy.

I'm considering upgrading to the new Tivo Roamio, but want to understand exactly what equipment I will need from TWC and how long I can expect it to take to iron out all the kinks. Has anyone on the forum successfully done this in less than 30 days (time frame for returning the Roamio box if more expensive or less good signal than existing set up).

OR, if I can live without the two extra tuners and the slingbox feature, would pairing a digital set-top box with my Series 2 DT give me a better digital signal than what I have with the DTA, and be less hassle than dealing with a cable card, etc. for the Roamio? (According to Tivo, the digital set-top box would restore my second tuner.)

So far TWC NYC has not been helpful in giving me guidance. Thanks!
