 | Changing HDDVR giving signal problem to TV Had an HDDVR from BHN that was going bad (silver). Tech came out while we were at work and replaced it with a black Sam sung box. Picture now seems like it is in zoom mode and banner and guide wording is really big. Tech support couldn't help as the changes to settings made no difference to my issues. Field guy came out said he fixed it, but didn't. Driving us a little crazy, because the picture just isn't the same. Change the box? Live with it? |

Tried that.. Nope. Vizio tv is locked on wide format due to HDMI cable. Wasn't on old box. DVR settings set to normal, 1080i, and 16x9 AR. Seems like we are in zoom mode. |

That should have been fixed with the # button now. Okay so let's look at the TV ....vizio should work fine....try another HDMI port on the TV just for grins and last using the Vizio remote not our remote make sure you aren't on zoom.....last but not least power cycle the box. |

Ok, I followed your direction this am pressing the # button while the remote is in cable mode and it was set to wide. I changed to normal and it made a difference, but still not back to what it was before with the other DVR box. Thanks, the tech on the phone had me press the tv mode before pressing the # button. So now the biggest issue is the size of the wording on the various guides and banners. I guess we will just learn to adjust. |

The Samsung box stretches the guide whereas the Cisco does not. This is normal. -- ~All truth goes through three phases. First, it is ridiculed. Second, it is violently opposed. Third, it is accepted as self-evident. - Arthur Schopenhauer ~

Finally! You the man. Thx. Why couldn't the other guys have said that! Do I have a choice to go back to a Cisco box? |

I need to see this just to make sure I'm looking at the right thing. Snap a photo of your tv with guide up and post it here and let me take a look. |

That looks as it should.... am I missing something? |

It is stretched and twice as big as before. You get used to something. In all the things in our lives, this is not that big. |
