Re: Strange Win7 Firewall behavour It is not strange behavior.
The software is designed to run with Microsoft O/S. The installer sets up a rule, 2 basic, I think 4 connections with chat added. The images shows where basically but there is advanced rules too - I do not have Skype on this computer, but if you want an image with Skype, it isn't hard to reproduce. Nothing nefarious there, it is doing it's designed job of being compatible with the O/S' design. Resetting to default restores Windows default configuration and all software that needs a firewall rule will ask for one.
A third party firewall is not bound by the same specific rules, even though it's drivers follow a similar path for certifying the software. -- The only thing necessary for the triumph of evil is for good men to do nothing - Edmund Burke

 | I just setup Skype using the offline setup file and for some reason the win7 firewall did not notify me of the skype incoming connection window. Then, i reset the win7 firewall to its default settings, and launched skype again, and the notify alert window appeared.
Before, win7 firewall notification settings were all checked and enabled. So i dont understand when installing, i did not get the alert window. |
