| Aging Eyes and Desktop Zoom I'm looking for a replacement for something I've really gotten used to and failing miserably: Compiz "Enhanced Zoom Desktop". I love it on Ubuntu 10.04 (Gnome2) but yeah... that's old and quickly getting ancient.
I can have a busy high-res desktop and simply and easily zoom as needed (hold the Super key and just scroll wheel).
But Compiz seems to have evolved into a buggy afterthought on modern desktops and Unity (a compiz plugin) dominates the activity. Since such a zoom requires compositing, I find it's not very good on lightweights, either.
Suggestions appreciated. Anyone else in the same boat? TIA
