2 year old TV when source is 720p or more i get no source

I have a 2 year old element TV. Never really used it, it was in a room not really used, but worked when used. I just put it in my basement and any source greater than 480p causes the TV to say NO SOURCE. I have tried wd tv box, xbox, blueray, and directv. Actually, on my directv box I can manually switch between resolutions, once greater than 480 = NO SOURCE.
I have checked the menu on the TV and there isn't much with the display at all.
Any help would be appreciated.
Thanks,
brian

Have you tried a new HDMI cable? A different HDMI port on the TV?

yup, three different cables. I even took the device with cable to another TV and it works fine. Tried all three ports...

Thanks,

I'm unable to locate the manual for this model online.

Obviouslyl it should be able to display up to 1080 resolutions.

I'm thinking one of two scenarios.

Perhaps there is a setting in the TV menu that is limiting resolutions. It seems that your devices are outputting fine being that you have checked them on other TV's and they display fine there. Since the same device that works fine elsewhere only exhibits problem on this ELEMENT tv it is clear it is an issue with this TV. So perhaps there is a menu setting that needs to be looked into...

or

The TV is not working properly. Duh.

Sorry can't offer anymore help that this without the manual. It seems you already have it diagnosed and isolated to this point, just don't know how to correct it.

Just curious if it can display 1080i when using an OTA antenna?

Also does it happen on all HDMI inputs?

Likely the TV is faulty. And I've come across more than a few reports of very poor HDMI input quality (ie: so bad it's basically not useable).

have you tried OTA hdtv? as a hd source

does the TV have a USB port for firmware updates?

more then likely it's a handshake issue which is solved by firmware update

ELEMENT ELDFW402 MAIN BOARD replacements are 50$ on ebay
