Hackers exploit vBulletin

Here we go again : "Hackers are exploiting a vulnerability in the popular vBulletin Internet forum software in order to inject rogue administrator accounts into websites using it.

The exploit was found by researchers from security firm Imperva on underground hacker forums and targets versions 4.x.x and 5.x.x of vBulletin." >>http://blog.imperva.com/2013/10/threat-advisory-a-vbulletin-exploit-administrator-injection.html

Dude, please don't get carried away. How ugly or pretty a VBull site is depends on the skin the owner uses, and it takes a while to rework a skin from an earlier version to a later one.

I grant you, not every site owner is skilled at css, but really, the visual isn't what matters - security and options do.

Re: Hackers exploit vBulletin

It's not unusual for vBulletin board software requiring urgent patching. Webmasters are generally on top of these.

From what I've heard from admin friends, if you're paying for Vbulletin, they require you to keep up to date with the latest version or their support team won't help you with problems until you do.
