I used to see them quite a bit when I played baseball, night games. We called them Electric Light bugs. I never hesitated to handle them and get them off the field. Now that this thread has prompted me to read up on giant water bugs and their painful bite, I think I'll leave them alone.

I see those all the time, never really paid attention to what they were. Hec I thought they were a beetle. Never been bit by one, but always handled them by their body. Could likely find one in 5 minutes or less right now if I were so inclined.
