Experience on using AquaMeter tool

Hi,

Has anybody used AquaMeter tool to check voice quality? And another question, do you know any test numbers for Google Voice?

Thanks!

Links would be nice.

And why do you need GV specific test numbers?

My answer is under spam test I just don't want to register for now, but when/if my reply passes the test, it will show up here. Thank you!

To make things faster just google for "sevana aqua meter", this is the tool I mean. I like to have some test numbers for GV like echo servers to check the call quality to different destinations. Thank you!

So, what is [your] experience with this tool?

It's surely never been mentioned here.

The name apparently is supposed to be [AQuA] which derives from Audio Quality Analysis.

That shows that the company favors being cute over being smart.

Because the name suggests something totally different from what it is!

And is used by so many other companies!

TL/DR: How can I have any respect for a company which chose a product name which:

a) Sounds like something totally different?
b) Is prone to being very generic?
c) Impinges on trademarks/names of other companies?

If their decision making is so bad, how can their product be any good?

you don't have to go far away: APPLE

how come Steve Jobs chose a name that is (I quote you)
"

"

Do you have respect for Steve Jobs, his company ?

P.s.: the Beatles were earlier out with APPLE

I am curious how to test calls from GV account, like calling echo servers f.e.

Thanks!

Assuming you have a GV number, all calls to the US and Canada are free until the end of the year.

1-408-647-4636 Saratoga, California
1-909-390-0003 Ontario, California (immediate echo after answer)
1-804-222-1111 DTMF echo only

And in fact there ended up being a major dispute between Apple Computer and Apple Beatles, which lasted ALMOST 30 YEARS and hurt both companies.

So your example fails.

@estpak.ee
I was aware of the dispute.

In your eyes my example fails, but it might not in the opinion of someone else.

I think our "dispute" is about subjective views.

If you google for aqua and trademark together you get many hits.
So, Sevana isn't the only company using "aqua" (water)

Imagine all those companies using "aqua" taking this issue to court...
Legal firms would be happy! But who else?

As far as I'm concerned: I consider this "thread" closed.

Yes, but all those others actually relate to water in real life.

A big, big thing is SEO (search engine optimization).

If you choose a name for your product that is already used by many other products, AND which is inherently misleading as well, that is NOT a good business plan and NOT good for SEO.

If that company took my advice and changed to a clearer and more unique name, their sales would increase significantly.

Done here as well.

\ I agree. In order to summarize it: It is a stupid, misleading name.
