Go to app manager, you should be able to uninstall it from there.

I'm curious as to why you'd wanna uninstall it. Most of my apps come through there as they're opensource and have been vetted not to contain any unwanted features. I only turn to Google Play as a last resort and I will try to run my next phone without it.

F-Droid does not have particularly a helpful name for itself. To a parent who is Droid illiterate, the app sounds like a trojan or worst if one sees it on the child's phone. I am winging it here that could be the only logical answer.

I found an ad blocker on FDroid that doesn't require root. Made me happy.
