The same thing happened to me on one machine but resolved itself somehow on it's own after a few hours.

Thanks! I was away all day today and ready to come back and rebuild my PC but it IS working now! I guess MS was overloaded with downloads. Hope my attempts at repair did no harm. My theme disappeared but that is a small inconvenience.
