A message went out to U-Verse techs last week detailing these new speeds, the message said 300Mbps was for GPON customers only, and was unclear about the rest, but there were rumors earlier this year that 75 and 100Mbps speeds would be coming out to customers on VRADS with pair bonding and the NVG589, add in vectoring and they could do 150Mbos as well through copper.

Will it be made available across the board to all FTTP GPON customers or are there franchise agreements that would limit where and how they can roll it out? It seems to me that this may be foreshadowing some sort of limited FTTP rollout to come in the future. No reason to get too excited about it, but this is at least a hint towards something very positive on the horizon....finally!
