[CA] New line, new noise
The city of San Diego is working with utilities to move overhead wiring underground. It's called The Over Under Project if I recall correctly. Last Thursday my tap was moved from the pole across the street, to underground on my side of the street. The distance doubled, but the initial performance and signal was great. When it works, it works well:
The problem is: intermittent periods where my net goes out, TV mostly doesn't work, and analog TV is full of noise and horizontal lines. This has happened several times since my tap moved, and sometimes it lasts for hours.
I have had two techs come out, and they followed procedure and refitted my cables, replaced my splitter, put a choke on one of the lines which leaked some voltage, checked the tap, replaced some line, etc. So my questions are:
What could be causing this? It seems like noise.
Is this affecting anyone else in San Diego (City)?
What can I do, other than switching providers?
