"The T.S.A. also maintains a PreCheck disqualification list, tracking people accused of violating security regulations, including disputes with checkpoint or airline staff members."
That's called intimidation. This country was built on questioning authority. |

This is a surprise to anyone? How did they think it worked?

It was very irritating standing in a 40 minute line like cattle and see one man walk through with that "pre-security check thing" though there is no way I would be pushed into doing it. My one thought at the time was how many would fall for the "fast paced line" when they could have made our line much shorter by just having more people to check.
Or better yet get rid of them altogether. |

pre-crime. I know there is still some time to go until we get to "Minority Report", but did the writer use those words "pre-crime" unconsciously, or deliberately? said by »www.rollingstone.co.za/o ··· ightmare : "We're taking in individuals who have broken no law ... because we get them first, before they can commit an act of violence. So the commission of the crime itself is absolute metaphysics. We claim they're culpable. They, on the other hand, eternally claim they're innocent."

Prognosis is a slippery path. Will it always/ever make a correct diagnosis....hmm I guess the TSA admistration is becomming more developed, yet, it requires more time chew the curd. |

Re: Security Check Now Starts Long Before You FlyAs the rolling stone article points out you have more chance in the west of being killed by a bolt of lightning than dying at the hands of a terrorist. And that includes the period before the security infrastructure in many countries went bonkers and decided the privacy laws only apply to regular joe citizen.
There is something in the human genome that is predisposed to total over-reaction when a threat comes from another human rather than the environment. Killed by a falling tree? ah, that's life. Killed by an extremely lucky foreign national taking advantage of a ridiculously vulnerable bit of civilian infrastructure? OMG, some people hate us? we must wipe them all out! subsume everything for that project!
Like Krikkits in Hitchhikers guide, whose planet was covered with dust. They discover the glorious wide universe one day and remark "It'll have to go". |

That overreaction is used by those, who want to take full control over society. And they're succeeding... It's obvious for those who can see, but not for others. The others (and that includes majority of people) do only what they can do ... overreact or at least believe that's the right way to do in this case. |
