Teksavvy looking for Beta testers for Cable in AB and parts of BCFor those of you tired of the constant price increases give Teksavvy Cable a try. See this post » Beta Testers Needed for Alberta! - No Longer Beta Product LaunchedAlthough the thread says Alberta only there are many BC cities on that list that are close to the Alberta border. |

Ya I know but I'm sure those high prices are not by choice. |

lol rogers approach is making life hell for tsi customers and shaws is to charge so much for the higher tiers that it makes more sense to stay with shaw, funny how competition works |

I'm pretty sure the CRTC sets the tariffs, Teksavvy has to try and cut a profit with what is left. The tariffs are set based on what shaw says it costs them to provide the service. |

I think they are based on Shaw's business plan profiles?
As for what Shaw expected it to cost them?
-No shaping on business plans |

they made city lists for southern and northern alberta, a few bc cities were included in these lists rather then having there own separate list, whether or not tsi did this on purpose i dont know |

What is the advantage of using Tek vs Shaw? Does Tek use the same nodes as Shaw?
I hate to see what the BB250 price would be! |

The main advantage would be unlimited packages.
IE 25mbps unlimited is 44.95 50mbps unlimited is 99.95 100mbps unlimited is 169.95
Honestly I don't think anything that streams is up to 25mbps yet (not even close really).
I'd rather have 25mbps unlimited with Teksavvy than 50mpbs with the 400gb cap with shaw. Once the connection is fast enough, I'm more concerned about the cap.
I think Teksavvy's prices for their capped packages are more expensive than Shaw, but the unlimited packages are much cheaper than shaw.
For me Teksavvy is all about the unlimited packages.
I could get DSL through them but it costs more. IE the DSL 25mbps unlimited package is 55/month plus the dry loop fee (13ish maybe) so 68/month.
Cable works out to be cheaper which is why I would like to see it here. |
