[TV] Recording and Playback problems
I am really getting ticked with my Pace PVR box. We have changed it out, at least 5 times in the past two years. We never had recording and playback problems when we had the Motorola version. At least 5 times, in the past week, we have recorded programs, and when we click, to play them, a screen comes up Don't Delete Recording, or Delete Recording. We can't even watch the recording. If we hit the arrow to start at beginning, it just reverts to the Don't delete or Delete Recording. Doesn't matter what channel we are recording, either. Very frustrating. We mainly watch the HD channels.
If this issue is not resolved soon, we are going to switch providers. Too much money for a machine that doesn't work properly, half the time. I called Cogeco, and a sympathetic gentleman, too the information, and said they are taking information down, on complaints for this problem, and not to delete the problematic recordings. Since then, we have had 13 incidents of this happening.
Well the older Motorola 6416's aren't doing much better as I've also have had the problem you describe at least 8 times within the last 6 months. I also have a problem where I will set a recording and it's one where the time starts or ends at an :01 like 10:01 to 11:00 and the program either disappears or it comes up and is the same recording as the 9:00 to 10:01 recording.
eg. Last night I had Castle set to record on CTV at 9:00 to 10:01 and then The Mentalist from 10:01 to 11:00 and when I checked the recordings Sunday afternoon it showed Castle being recorded twice at 9:00. I don't know if it's the guide that's the problem or if it's some type of software hardware conflict but I've also done the same thing with my other 6416 downstairs and it does the same thing.
I would tend to think this is a problem with Cogeco on their end but hey I know right now that they will say it's my problem at my end with my hardware. There is just no getting through to them as they are always right and you are always wrong.
