[Wireless] Linksys BEFW11S4 V3 as hard access point for desktop?Basically I have TWC Cable Internet hooked to my Cisco Linksys E2500 router in the Office for both Wired and wireless access for various components throughtout the house. I have a non wireless desktop in the garage running XP SP3 I'd like to get access to the wireless network but is doesn't have a wireless NIC. Can I use a spare Linksys BEFW11S4 V3 router I have to capture the wireless signal in the garage and provide a wired access point to the desktop, and if so how? TIA. |

I am sure some here will correct me if I'm wrong....
What you want to do is set up the BEFW11S4 as a wireless bridge. I don't know if that particular router supports it. Also it looks like the BEFW only supports WEP encryption which means that you would have to change it on the newer E2500 which I wouldn't recommend. |
