Software Version: 18.104.22.168
Hardware Version: 2700-100618-005
----- (The Problem) -----
We currently have Rogers Home Phone and Cable TV and no Bell home phone service, however we do have ADSL internet service. The Rogers home phone has its cable modem in the basement and spliced every which way with the original phone line wires (photos below). The result is we have Rogers home phone on all our phone jacks EXCEPT in one phone jack in the house where we connected the 2Wire ADSL internet modem. There is no DSL filter on any of our phone jacks
The internet modem works fine for the most part but at random times lasting several minutes the modem will get the RED internet light then restart itself. Internet connectivity will halt even earlier than that displaying a Bell message that there is a problem with the internet / restart the modem. The problem is eventually resolved on its own but the issue could start up again a few seconds later or not. Very frustrating. Bell just says to restart the modem but that was useless.
I was able to purchase a separate, used 2Wire 2701HG-G modem (identical to the one i already have) with a different power adapter and STILL it behaved in the same frustrating way.
Can someone please tell me at least WHY is my 2Wire modem behaving this way? Could it be a faulty modem or power adapter (perhaps my other purchase was of a faulty unit)? Could it be a dry loop issue or even the Rogers phone line splicing? What can i do to resolve this matter? I'm all ears!! I want to pinpoint the issue (is it software, hardware, firmware, wiring?)
Below are some photos and diagnostics.

Below are stats pulled from the 2Wire gateway screens. I do not have MDC access.

Here are photos in my basement where the Rogers Cable Modem (for Rogers home phone) is connected. I assume the splicing of the original phone line is how it is able to interface with all the phone jacks in the house and i assume somewhere in that mess there is an exception where my ADSL internet modem's phone jack bypasses it to the Bell dry loop line?
