DVR will not cancel recordingHi, I am getting frustrated with my DVR again. I have the Atlantic 8300HD and it seems weekly whereas it will not let me cancel a recording. Different recordings that are in my series module. Sometimes these shows come on later so I can record them at the different time to allievate the conflict. However, what is going on is after setting up the show to say record at 1:00 am, I cannot cancel the original airing at 9:00 PM. I have hit resolve conflict for the show I want to record and it will not change, deleted the series still not change, rebooted the dvr still no change, went to the computer and logged into my services still will not budge. The only way to stop recording is to stop it when it is recording and by that time its too late. I had a show starting at 9 PM the other show started at 10 pm. The first show was to run to 11 pm. When I hit record it asked which show I wanted to cancel recording. I highlighted the one at 10 pm and nothing, still would not record the one I wanted. Is it time to replace this one too?? Yes I did call CS and they were unable to stop the recording luckily I was able to record the show on my other dvr but still I should have control of my equipment. And of course they offered to replace the dvr but it is getting to be a hassle this dvr has all my shows that I want to save. Any suggestions? |

I would follow their suggestion and get a new box. The new boxes have bigger capacity than those older ones, and are faster. When I changed over, I went and got a 3rd box extra, and took it home, plugged both in and setup the new one to start recording everything, while I watched stuff I had recorded on the old one. Once it was empty, I exchanged that one for another new box for my roommate to do the same with his TV. Then took the box back. I ended up paying a month for a 3rd box, but was worth it to have everything to reference what series I had setup. |

Thank you that is an idea. You are right about the space on this dvr its always getting full. Think I will copy the movies to a dvd and watch the shows with an extra box recording. Appreciate the help. |

Hi I called Customer Service back and they could see something was going on with the box. So the Tech is coming out tomorrow to swap it out. Boy that is 3 boxes in a month two in the family room and this one in the computer. My husband says thats because I am overusing them - he has had his for years with no problems. Oh well lets see what happens tomorrow. Thanks |

Well the repairman left and as usual he only had the 8300hdc in the truck. Its the same old story they only have what they are given and he was only given this model. If I want the Cisco then I would have to drive to the warehouse and hope they have one in stock of course there is no number to call to check. Guess I was lucky to get the cisco for the main room. But you know it gets old after awhile with the excuses. I don't mean to yell or abuse the repairman so I just accepted the refurbished box and said thank you. What else could I do keep the broken box? I don't think so. On a day off I may take a ride to the so called warehouse and see if I can exchange it but it won't be for a few weeks. |
