Re: Use MacRumors? CHANGE your password NOW

Good to know - my paypal was hacked a couple days ago and had the same password; I wonder if this was related!

I gotta ask, why isn't your paypal password unique to paypal?? (or is it now? )

Today, for the first time, I let Safari suggest a secure password. Problem is, on some? all? sites, you can't copy the password, nor will Safari generate the same password into the confirmation box (it suggests a new one).
So the only way to confirm it is to type it out (not fun, especially in iOS).

Sounds like a bug.. Were you on iOS at the time? I seem to remember using the generated password at some point on OS X and it filled in both boxes.

I hadn't even used paypal in probably 2 years, but I woke up a decent chunk of change poorer. I'm much better about using individualized PWs these days

Just by chance, I was opening a new account on a site last night on Mavericks. I let Safari auto-fill the suggested password and it filled in both the first and confirmation password fields.

Then on first login to the site, it correctly filled in my email address and password. Worked perfectly.

Yes I've used it a few places very effectively. I wonder if it was a bug unique to something about that site?
