Anyone have ProXPN and tried connecting to the Atlanta server? When I try connecting to Atlanta, I get connected to a server in New York according to IP geolocation and Whois reports on the IP. Does anyone else get the same? |

IP geolocation is not an exact science. Theres nothing in the spec that actually binds IPs to specific locations. IP geolocation is based on traffic analysis, convention, what the owner reports, etc. So it's entirely possible the IP *is* located in Atlanta and geolocation is wrong. Thats why you always have to take IP geolocation w/ a grain of salt.
What I would do is perform a traceroute and see if the intermediate routing points are zeroing in near Atlanta or New York. IOW, if you see a lot of southern routing points as you near the final destination and then it ends w/ a jump to New York, it's probably an IP geolocation error. |
