[Help Me] Remote Reboot DIR-825??

Sometimes my router will get hung up and the web interface will become inaccessible.

Is there a way to remotely reboot it without having to physically unplug the power cable?

Any help would be appreciated!

Thanks
- Jeff

What FW version is currently loaded?
What ISP modem do you have?

Can you connect to the remote web access of the router or is that hung up as well?

Try reviewing this as well:

I'm not sure what you are referring to here. As stated I cannot access the web GUI, obviously I'm doing that remotely, through the network. If you had another meaning please explain and I can get you the information!

I guess what I'm asking is, is there a way to SSH into the router and reboot it (or some other way). The only ways I can think to reboot it would be the web GUI (unavailable) or physically unplug the device (would prefer not to).

Thanks again for your assistance!

is the remote access control feature enabled on the 825? I presume it is.

Can you install a remote access program on a local always ON PC like teamviewer and connect there and see if you can access the routers page there?

There is no SSH way to remote in to the router from behind the web UI or FTP.

Only reason that the UI might be hung up is that router itself is hung up and that is caused by a configuration issue or a problem on the LAN or WAN side.

Also swap out cables between the ISP modem and 825. CAT 6 is recommended.
Also if your ISP modem supports Gb WAN port speeds, change the 825s WAN port speed from Auto to 1000Mb

There is newer FW available. You could try to update using this:

However I recommend reviewing this and trying some of the tips and suggestions before updating FW:

You might start with updating the firmware 2.09NA is far more stable I never had it hang on me. I had to get it from the Canada support site.
