[Connectivity] Really bad packet loss and high latency!
I live in the Chicago area and for the past 2 days, i've had terrible packet loss and high latency. I am unable to watch any livestream video and web browsing has slowed to a crawl. I have been on the phone with customer support and they have given me the same song and dance about power-cycling my modem. One of them scheduled a technician to come on monday. Perhaps you kind users will be more qualified to diagnose my problem?
Here is a trace route to google.com:
Here is a graph from ping plotter:
Here are my modem signals:
I appreciate any help, just please don't ask me to reboot my modem.
What area of Chicago are you in? I'm in the SW suburbs, connect to the Romeoville headend. Juet curious, because I see you have 3 64QAM upstream channels. I haven't seen that anywhere in the Chicago area before. I have 2 64QAM and 1 16QAM still.
Hopefully they upgrade mine soon!
I have noticed that my line has higher ping times and a lot more jitter lately when I used to have none. My upstream levels reached 49dBmV in hot weather, but I haven't had any trouble thus far so I haven't bothered to call yet. It was only 42dBmV last year though with no jitter whatsoever.
My downstream channels' SNR still look fine (37-38) though the power levels on my lowest and highest channels are 3-4dBmV apart.
