ComboFix Restore Issue

ComboFix Restore Issue

Hi,

OS: Windows 7 Professional 64 bit

I ran ComboFix on a computer and now we are unable to access one of our prgrams (Flexi).

I attempted to undo the ComboFix changes by running erdnt.exe but I got the following errors:

>
warning!
current registry file not found
c:\windows\system32\config\security
restore this file?
>
warning!
error restoring
c:\windows\erdnt\hiv-backup\default
to
c:\windows\system32\config\default
continue with the next file?
>

current registry file not found
c:\windows\system32\config\default
restore this file?
>
warning!
error restoring
c:\windows\erdnt\hiv-backup\system
to
c:\windows\system32\config\system
continue with the next file
>

current registry file not found
c:\windows\system32\config\system
restore this file?
>
error restoring
c:\windows\erdnt\hiv-backup\software
to
c:\windows\system32\config\software !
continue with next file

SFC gives error and CBS log shows it as: Cannot repair member file [l:20{10}]"DWrite.dll

I'm not sure if it is related.

Thanks in advance for your time and consideration.

That's but one of the reasons why we ask to not make changes to your system, nor run a guided tool designed for helpers

Is this computer a work pc or personal one?

Hi,

thanks for the feedback. I was told by another helper that it would be best to do a system restore from the date or previous to the date of the ComboFix run. What's your thoughts on that?

You are already receiving help at »www.spywareinfoforum.com ··· rdntexe/

It's never a good idea to ask for the same help at two different forums. At best, it wastes the time of one of the Helpers. At worst, it can cause problems when given two different sets of instructions and the Helpers unaware of the other's instructions you have been given.
