[Bill] Billing and re-new
We've been going back and forth with comcast for a couple of years now. Bought a house, signed up with starter, phone and hsi. Opted for the arris modem because it doesn't limit our speed. Cost is $99/mo. plus all the other charges. After the first year they upped us to d.preferred at same price. Now this year, they put us back to starter at the same price. We live very close to the co. so we go in personally. However, this time, we got a grouchy old lady that said she noted in the computer that we can't do it again. Question: The changed us back to starter today, 12/7 but we already have been billed 12/5 - 1/4 for non-promo preferred $154.00. ATT, whom I like, has been bugging the heck out of us lately. My only reservation is the internet speed from ATT. We currently get d/l speeds over 20 megs. due to the old modem not being able to control the speed. Thoughts? Opinions? Do I really need to call billing? or will they adjust it?

Re: Billing and re-new
After doing research, I see that we DO have a 25 meg. hsi account at 40/mo. At first we signed up for 3 meg and got a lot higher, but now it looks like we can't switch to 3 meg and still have a starter or preferred triple play pkg.

switch to att if you need to. Comcast is getting harder and harder to work with. They tell you one price then the next month it's double that price so I left for frontier and directv and couldn't be happier. Just miss the local access channels, the Pittsburgh channels, local on the 8s and weather scan.
But I got boomerang, all rsns except csn Philadelphia and nfl sunday ticket. Plus I can use my indoor antenna to get Pittsburgh and even canton tv.
I'm really an ATT guy. BUT, I managed a property in trust for quite a while. For a friend I've known since 10 yrs. old. Once the trust was dissolved we inherited the Comcast account and phone number. PPL at the co. have been very good to us, but now that is over. The ph.# was issued by att years ago. Might be nice to be "home".

Re: [Bill] Billing and re-new
Our rate went up to around $129.99 from $109.99. I looked up what AT&T U-verse could offer us and it looked better so I called Comcast last night and got it lowered to $119.99. Plus they threw in free HD (have to get box swapped out). The AT&T offer is still tempting because I think they throw in a free DVR and HBO for 24 months (amazing). The only thing I am concerned about is their Internet. 24 Mbps seems to be the best they offer in our area. That speed is fine but the ping seems better with Comcast.

ATT does have uverse tv as well. Uverse tv has more channels than Comcast and way more HD if I am not mistaken.
