[rCable] new install - no service yet 10hrs and counting

Convinced a friend to sign up for service. The Robbers tech showed up as scheduled this morning and said all is good "You should be up in 30mins).....nearly 10 hrs later still no service. Tech with Start informed me that the tech 'needs to close the ticket" and that until that happens my buddy willn't be connected....

Have had other referrals go off without this being a 10hr problem....so grrrrr needless to say...

Suggestions if any?

I'd offer up to anyone that they insist that the tech on the install visit close the ticket ASAP so that service can start for what thats worth going forward.

What are the lights on your friend's modem doing?

If the pattern is RF sync has been obtained, may be a provisioning issue (10.*.*.* IP address). Easy way to check is connecting directly to the modem and seeing what IP address is assigned.

unless something went wrong with provisioning (wrong modem serial/MAC provided) then it could just be delayed and you might have to wait until midnight.
