Getting random hard lockups. In the past few weeks I've experienced at least 3 hard lock ups after its been idle for some time. Never had one while using it. Nothing is set to sleep except for monitors and "usb selective suspend setting" is apparently enabled in power management. Where should I be looking to find the culprit? It becomes totally unresponsive. Specs are as follows:
AMD Phenom II X2 555 Black Edition @ 4ghz 3 cores Gigabyte ma785gm-us2h Antec 650watt PSU MSI Radeon HD7750 Kingston 128gb ssd (main) 750gb WD Black Drive (data) 1tb seagate (data) 300gb seagate external firewire 4gb OCZ DDR2 2x 23" Acer Monitors |

Get a Hirens boot CD and run Memtest and HD diagnostics. When you have checked those I would be looking for a virus. Don't forget to check your event logs.
If you need specific help with the boot CD, just PM |

Disabling usb selective suspend makes no difference? |

Can you be more specific about what you mean with "hard lock ups"? |

Are conditions: Hot? Humid?
Are bios alerts set to hold on all errors?
I have a similar issue but know my power supply is good, and my motherboard is being affected by heat and moisture, but there are so many things - ram, psu, motherboard, grahpics cards, hdds, cables and that isn't without drivers.
Does a clean boot help fix the problem?
Mind you I've had troubles with dual screens, and so far testing has worked with swapping default and the power source; as in wall plugs to get the computer itself off the powerboard with everything else tied to.
Just a few thoughts with so little info.
