I bought a DVD and it requires the interactual player to play content on the computer, but it will not work in Windows 8.1 any ideas? The only error that keeps poping up is an error about the dvd encoder, but the pc plays the dvd fine just not the online content.

What is the exact error you are getting?

the one that says I don't have a dvd codec/player installed, but I have power dvd.

Error PL4013

It may be that InterActual may not be compatible with Windows 8.1 or may have difficulty recognizing newer versions of PowerDVD.

Also, the program does not appear to be available for download anymore from the InterActual website.

You DO NOT have to install Interactual to play the DVD. And you probably do not want to if you have any concerns about your privacy.

Sounds like you have AUTORUN turned on your optical drive. This causes the Interactual install to kick off when the DVD is inserted into the drive. If you have DVD player software installed on your machine you do not need to install the Interactual software to watch the DVD.
