Take it for what it's worth...Mergers and Acquisitions

According to the New York Post the Dollan's may get involved in some way with the consolidation and mergers being talked about especially concerning TWC. If this means as a potential buyer of some of TWC assets and territory or as a seller to an investment group that would merge assets with pieces of TWC, the article is vague.
said by New York Post :
On a day dominated by news that Charter Communications was readying a $135-a-share offer for Time Warner Cable, sources Friday said Cablevision may soon enter the fray.

The Bethpage, NY, company controlled by the Dolan family is likely to be approached soon by private equity players eager to back a bid for pieces of TWC, the sources added.

Cablevision sits right next door to Gotham City-based TWC, which appears headed to the chop shop.

A spokesman for Cablevision declined comment.

I'd be surprised if they would be able to get Manhattan and Staten Island (I still think Comcast might make a play for it), however, they might be able to get the parts of Brooklyn that is currently TWC as well as Queens, thus allowing for one homogenous system on Long Island.

Plus the small TWC systems in Mount Vernon and northeast NJ would also fit nicely into Cablevision's footprint.

A few months ago, there were very similar posts with very similar links here spreading rumors that TWC was going to buy Cablevision. Now, an off-handed statement is being used to rumor the other way around.

Happy Holidays!
