Now I wouldn't say
" Large telecommunications companies like Bell and Rogers that own much of the content we consume " .
They like to 'buy/rent' U.S.A. programming and then that gives them the Canadian television airing Rights coming from Canadian TV stations. They do make some content, but if it isn't quality, no one will watch it and we don't want to subsidize shitty Canadian content for Canadian content's sake.

As Red Green said: "Without Canadian content rules, my show would of never made it 15 seasons" as the first 3 seasons were just above crap.

The Trans Pacific Partnership will help them ban streaming video from other countries and possibly add the TV tax Bell wants... Welcome back to the TV dark-ages.

Don't trust 'apps' before making sure they are not skimming off your smartphone or tablets personal data(address books, and other stuff). App's make the mobile experience real easy but also induce security holes.

Nevertheless, you need to wait until somebody does something before you accuse them of it.

And I never did accuse them. Just pointing out what one does the rest usually follows suit shortly after.

Indeed they do have a lot to do with this.

The only thing here is that Rogers was not made party to this part 1, but it will apply to them equally.

We will likely see them make a filing anyhow.

Don't know why they moved this topic. It is relevant especially for TSI customers and other indie customers as they are competition to BHell and Rogers and will be subjected to the uncompetitive practices. From a download cap perspective it will be cheaper to obtain content from BHell using a BHell connection than from Netflix via TSI connection.

There's already a thread in Canadian Broadband on this topic since it impacts any and all Canadian customers.
