[Speed] Pay for 30 and get 10 Enid OK

I pay for the fastest tear of consumer internet thats available in my area 30x something and I get about 10 down all the time. Never better.

I don't want to call into support. Last time they came out and re-wired the whole house, trenched in a new line, and cut the sprinkler valve electric lines in more places that I want to talk about. And that was not even the problem.

If it takes them coming to my house again im out. Ill just stick with the 10 or go somewhere else.

Do these signal levels look ok?

Your levels look fine.

Your best bet is to get in touch with SDL L3Tech (»SDL L3Tech) here on the forum about your issue. He's a lead tech who visits here twice a week or so on his free time. He's helped several people in the past with their problems.

Before you get in touch with him, here's the info that he will need:

1.) Your current IP address... »www.whatismyip.com/

2.) Your modem's MAC address.

3.) It's best to also run PingPlotter Pro (free trial) to trace your hops for a full 24hr. period. PP can be downloaded here... »www.pingplotter.com/download.html You can then save the file and attach it here or to a PM.

Thanks for the info.

I have ran some ping test and everything works fine.
I'm just limited on bandwidth.

says I have to wait 8 hours to send an IM.
Hurry up and wait!

That's just since you're a new member.

How are you actually testing your download speed? Are you downloading from multiple high speed servers (things such as linux distros or the EVE online install)? Speedtest sites can be useless and misleading a lot of the time. Have you also tried removing any router or network gear you may have between you and the router to see if you are having the same results?

yes I have tested many ways.
My favorite is a download from our suddenlink fiber connection 5 miles away. (a 12ms hop from here)

the type of download or time of day does not effect the speed.
Its never what I pay for.

Have you tried asking any of the chat reps (always have better luck on chat than on the phone) to double check your profile? Always being stuck at 10 megs and no better sounds like something didn't get upgraded properly.

Worth a shot while you're waiting on SDLtech

well I eat my words here..
I swapped out the netger prosafe router for a pfsense box last night.

Im starting to think I may have used that MAC at another location close to here (was cloned).

When I put in the pfsense box i didn't clone anything so I could start fresh and bam. 30x3.

thanks for the replies.

Good deal. You know where to come to and who to get a hold of if everything else fails!
