[HSI] 30mb/4mb goes to 60mb/4mb happening NOW» forums.evga.com/tm.aspx? ··· =2080881If they are not giving a decent increase to the Ultra 100mb/5mb service. I will be dropping it and going with this upgraded speed tier. 60/4 is plenty. And if I remember correctly. That was the previous Ultra service? 60mb/3mb I believe? I had it myself. Just cant remember the exact numbers. |

Re: [HSI] 30/4 goes to 60/4 happening NOWSo they are going to upgrade us from 30/4 to 60/4? I can't see them not charging us more for that kind of speed bump. Still i just got Charter internet so a speed upgrade works for me. |

Yeah these are suppose free speed increases. But, we all know they come at a cost. Expect new rate hikes next year. |

I did not realize it was you as well on EVGA forums. Cool beans. That was me that sent you a pm and wanted to make a thread on this. I know you told me it was for business so nothing to get excited yet I guess for Residential. |

Wow, does this mean we'll be going from 4Mb/s to 8Mb/s download in primetime hours now?!
If so, cool beans. What could be better than that? |

I think I just posted this on another topic? How long before they do this for residential customers and then FORCE everyone to that plan that they don't need or can't afford, again! Besides, You KNOW that much of a bump ISN'T going to be "free" for long. Didn't even notice right away that there is no increase in the upload? WTF?! |

Your Speed Result: Download Speed: 64345 kbps (8043.1 KB/sec transfer rate) Upload Speed: 4211 kbps (526.4 KB/sec transfer rate
Nice increase. Hope price does not increase, but if they offer more than 5meg on 100meg package will prob jump to it eventually again. |

Looks like it's live here in Lake Arrowhead, CA - checked it this morning at 30mbit, rebooted my modem and it's been a solid 60/4 on every speed test. None of that powerboost crap that makes it look like 40 - 60 mbit. » www.speedtest.net/my-res ··· 77457792 |

You guys that have gotten it the latest, are these residential accounts or business accounts? |

This was kind of a unexpected surprise, usually charter is first to gloat then upgrade later. Now I wonder what they will do about pricing and more upload.. |

In typical Charter fashion no one at charter knows about the upgrade that just happened. That, or it was a mistake. |

Nothing here yet. Even rebooted the modem. I have to be honest. By now. I thought for sure we would see upload channel bonding before speed increases. |

Apparently if your grandfathered in on old pricing with 30/4 then your grandfathered in with the same speeds & monthly price ($57.99) so no speed increase unless you switch to new pricing with there modem. I just purchased a new SB6141 modem a couple weeks ago but won't be getting the new 60/4 speeds.
The good thing is my current monthly price won't change. |

The good thing is my current monthly price won't change. I shouldn't have to worry then since im force to use there modem but i didn't know resident pay so close to business pricing - unlimited bandwidth |

Huh? I'm pretty sure they were grandfathering people into 15 megs at one point. And they stopped supporting customer owned modems several months ago. Not sure what you're saying they've never done in the past. |
|
|
I was on the 15 Mbps download speed back when they pushed me to the current 30 Mbps tier. They didn't forcing me to use their modem at that time either to get the speed increase. I am on a TV/Phone/Internet(30/4) bundle plan and using a SB6141 I purchased outright. They never gave me any hassle when I changed plans six months ago about using my own modem. Maybe it is a regional thing as they seem to be supporting customer modems in my location. |

I'm looking for clarification. Is this only for business customers or for residential also? I am currently on 30/4, I am not grandfathered into anything, I am now paying $54.99 per month and they have given me a SB6141.
Also, is there a link to a document that says this is happening? |

i see you are in st. louis area - power off your modem for 5 minutes, plug back in and just for kicks, power cycle your router - do speed test - from what i heard is that residential is not yet getting the increase, but will be soon (no time frame) |
