It's nasty here too. Doesn't hold a candle to '98 yet though.

Nothing's been knocked down.

Looks familiar... :/

Our problem a few years back really came once the ice started coming off the tower. Lost a shelter (metal shed) and countless radios/antennas due to the falling ice.

Yeah, because of tower and guy wire ice I really dislike going to the repeater sites in the winter... It's not very pleasant to be in either shack when you hear the loud boom on the roof... Also not a good idea to park anywhere close to the tower as I'm sure everyone here already knows

I showed up at a grain elevator later today to hook up a generator and the ice pouring off this thing was awesome. I couldn't get close enough to it.

We had a miraculous thaw and the ice just shed off of everything. -91 backhauls to -55 in 15 seconds time. 900mhz customers popping back one every 60 seconds.

Within an hour everything was normal less the power problems.

It was like Mother Nature saying sorry here is some sun and +C degrees to make it right. Lol

Part of that almost sounds like part of an ad for the "wifi speed spray" joke ad I've seen before "-91 backhauls to -55 in 15 seconds time"

I'm sure that was an interesting sight to see, too bad there isn't video

And also glad to hear that this is an instance of a problem solving itself... Mostly anyways

OK around here ... I was hoping for freezing rain and then a cold snap for some tests.
