Touch ID with iTunes and App Store
I thought that Touch ID would obviate the need to type my Apple ID's password when making purchases at the App Store or at iTunes, but when I tried to purchase an item, the password entry screen appeared. I tried using my thumb print, but nothing happened.
Isn't the fingerprint supposed to be used there in place of a typed password?
I have them turned on in Settings / General / Touch ID.
The first time you make a purchase (after rebooting the phone), it will ask for your password. The second time, it will show a Touch ID dialog box that allows you to either touch the sensor or tap a button to enter your password.
