I like bitcoin, it is interesting.
not a big fan of the bit coin fanboys though, they can be insufferable
a forum for crypto currencies would be useful.

Have you met dogecoin fanboys?

Definitely put them in their own forum.

I believe that you just need someone to keep these people in line. The crypto-currency wave draws all sorts of crowds, including some of the crazier folks. Aside from making sure that people aren't discussing how to purchase illegal goods with crypto-currency, forcing people to keep things on-topic and intelligent with a fairly strict ruleset would be a great way to go.

The reason why I think this crypto-currency forum could work out is because people are beginning to post all over this site with no idea where they think they could get information on crypto-currency.

I've seen posts in the Unix forum for setting up cgminer, posts in the Hardware forum for hardware setups, and posts in the cooler and pub for casual discussion. There's no central place to talk about this and it's all highly technical. We could set the forum up with the proper FAQs and encourage people to post their setups to draw more visitors.

In this case, I think that anonymous posters being allowed to participate would be a good draw as well, as it would eventually bring them in to register.

I would love to help build this community up.

Agreed
I would like to learn more about the crypto-currency.
Some doubts as to the value of these even if retailers are accepting them. What good is coin mining doing besides making founders of the coin exchanges big piles of money for their dogs to poop on?
Looks slightly like a Madoff triangle scam.

There's more it to it than that, but that's not what this thread is for.

Just went to a restaurant in Philly that accepted BitCoin. Can a crypto-currency forum become a reality?

I think this is a great idea and I am surprised that there is no such forum at this point. Welp, maybe I just was not paying attention.

We will probably get the forum set up just about the time that cryptocurrency falls out of favor and it is no longer needed.

It was a dig at how slow we are to implementing things sometimes. IBM, GM and Toyota are streamlined and efficient by comparison.

Seriously ? I don't care for it. That was my answer. I didn't say I don't mind. Why, I should not express my opinion you say?
