Can anything adjust/improve poor focus?

Can any software adjust or improve a photo with poor focus, after the fact? [no or Yes. If yes, what?] Thanks!

Yes, but I've been out of the loop for a bit and not sure if it's readily available yet.

You can do some tweaking with Photoshop and Lightroom (probaby others) but your success will depend on how far out of focus.

In all honesty, it sounds like a lot of trouble and money to buy either of those for only one photograph.

Is there any other way? Please.

Maybe post it here, someone might be able to help. Post a large photo, gives others more to work with.

Got freckles?
Thank you.

Even with freckles, it is better focused.
Just not quite there yet.

You need to look at the full size that I posted. Sharpened a tad more

Yes, thank you. I did. The only real yet small criticism that I found was the eyes now appear as glassy. Not demonic. Just glassy. Can that be improved please?

Burned the eyes a bit, not sure it helped.
If you are wanting to print this image the print will look like the image sized at about 50% on your monitor. We want an image a tad over sharpened for printing.

Gimp 2.6 and is free. Gimp 2.8 is the latest, but I was not happy with it because you cannot save photo files in jpeg format. Hopefully that will change in the near future, because they have some improvements that I like.
I did use a sharpening technic that is about 12 steps, so not just a simple slider.

Agree, the effort is a big improvement. Thank you. I will have to give a look at the Gimp. Thanks!

Just playing. I think Sue did a bang up job, but I just had to try my hand as well...for practice. All slightly different, but hey, playing is fun.

You did use the Export As option in GIMP 2.8, right? If you use save or save as, it saves it in it's own format so you can work on it later. If you use Export or Export As, you get the old way of saving where you can choose the graphic extension (.BMP .GIF .PNG .JPG ect).

Thank you, I was saving the same way I do with the old version. Will try again. Anything else I should know before I switch again?

Not that I know, as I'm still trying to figure out all the bells & whistles myself. Never could figure out why they thought messing around with the way we save pictures was necessary. Hope 2.9 goes back to the original way.
