[Wired] E2500 Issues

I've recently had a Cox tech come to my house and install a new modem and we have new internet speeds. Our current package is the Ultimate 150 Down. Our modem is a Motorola Surfboard SB6182 and my router is the Linksys E2500, Now when I hook my modem straight to my PC, I get average speed tests of around 170-190 down and 30-40 up. After I hook up my router, "which was bought 3-4 months ago" I get speeds of 20-30 down and 40 up. I'm confused as to what's going on here, before he installed the new modem I was getting around 80-100 down which was fine seeing as it's only a 100 Mbit port router, But now this is just unacceptable. I've tested this multiple times with and without router and it has the same results each time. I can not go without a router and over the past year I've spent around 200-300 dollars on new modems and routers, Is their something in the setup that needs to be changed now that the speeds are higher or with the new modem, I'm very confused and frustrated. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

These were the tests I got while using the router vs only modem. Both using RJ45. Wireless has the same issue though.
( I replaced my IP with the letters ip )

This is after I swapped my "new" modem the 6182, to my old one the 6121. I guess the router and modem are just not optimized well together? I don't understand it.

This was test with Modem + Router.

Strange, have you tried with different patch cables?
You have the latest firmware on the ES2500?

E2000 here. I had to turn off some filtering to get full download speed here.
I forgot what It was I did, but there is a thread here on what was done.

The Linksys E2500 has only a 10/100 wan ethernet port so you will never get the full speeds your broadband packages provides. You will need to look for a Gigabit Port router so you can get the speeds you are paying for.

Also seeing you might need to check the ethernet cables you were using as older cat5 cables are know to have issues with speed.

ethernet cables shouldn't be a problem ... the E2500v3 I have came with a Cat 5e, but I did notice having WMM enabled, can't remember where caused slow downs. Also if you are on a AMD / ATI Videocard, and have the latest drivers installed, get rid of AMD Quickstream ....these routers don't like it and causes speed drops on both wired and wireless.

You nailed it! No gigabit support with that router. Time to upgrade OP and you will then get full speeds with a router. Just make sure they are gigabit ports.
