FWIW I don't use a PCPP account, I just log in as guest and then use the BBcode markup to paste the build directly into my forum post. That way my choices (good are atrocious) are preserved for all posterity (see my first reply in this thread as an example).

Heh,
Please bear with me, I had a brain fart (im gettin old)
»pcpartpicker.com/user/bo ··· ved/3l54
I think thats what I had in there.
HOWEVER, I changed cases. I really like this case. Its the case I used on the machine I put together for my son.
Please check it out. I think something is wrong. The price dropped slightly? about 10 bucks? It actually should have gone up about 50 with this case

Looks good. Are you chancing it with the stock CPU cooler? And consider Windows 8.1 vs. 7.

BTW, this might help posting here:

One thing I just noticed... $32 is steep for just a DVD writer. There are some on there for half of that cost.

Ya know I was looking for an optical drive with lightscribe. Seems not alott come with it these days.
I guess its kind of outdated. I like it though. It can be fun.

Most of the PC's we have can do LightScribe. But the blank disks that have the LightScribe top coating are absurdly expensive, so we've never burned a single one. It was a great idea, but many CD's I burn get tossed out regularly (bootable software tools that have to be burned again as new versions come along) so I just can't justify the extra cost.

Hello hello,
well all the parts are here and I need to ask a question please,
this is the MB i bought,
»www.newegg.com/Product/P ··· 13128674

and it does say "Onboard Video Chipset
Supported only by CPU with integrated graphic"

which the I5 4570 does have video support.

But im confused, in the back of the MB there is no place to plug a monitor?
I do see 1 HDMI socket there though.
is that it?

Yep, it looks like that model only comes with 1 HDMI output. There are several other models in the same price range that come with DVI/VGA outputs also.

Alrightee then.
Shes up, running and I'm typing this on it now.
Smooth, real smooth.
the install and the performance.
I gotta say, this is my fourth machine I put together. By far the easiest.

Ive installed all the drivers, both drives (1 at a time), wireless card, Anti virus and all windows updates.
No conflicts in device manager.

What else should I do?
I haven't done anything to the SSD, not sure if I need to. (this 840 evo is definitely faster than my other 2 ssd's [c-300 & m4]

Ah, SSD, try the drive's utility to allow over-provisioning.

Once it is set, just turn off the start up of Magician to avoid the constant start-up prompts when booting up.

Glad everything worked out. Later in the process I thought about discussing the connectors but as hdmi is now very common on monitors I let it go. If it had turned out to be an issue I would have felt very badly about that but there are inexpensive adapters that could have dealt with the issue so it shouldn't have been a big problem.
