help - netbook / light laptop ...

my mom wants a light laptop for travel .. really asked it to be light

she just needs it for browsing .. youtube / movies .. skype ..

budget is flexible - but I'd keep it under $600

at first I was thinking

»www.samsclub.com/sams/as ··· ion=push

or so but they would rather get something good ...

what else would you recommend?

thank you very much ...

Re: help - which one would you choose?

What's your budget? I worry about the performance of both of those rigs, even for Youtube and Skype.

flexible budget if it's good

my mom will use it often .. so it's OK to spend a more ...

Re: help - netbook / light laptop ...

I would think that you would want to get something with at least a i3 processor and 8 GB of RAM running a 64-bit operating system. If you don't go at least to this level of hardware you are looking at something it may become obsolete quite rapidly. You should be able to find lots of laptops that meet this criteria in your price range.

Is there any specific size screen she's looking for, operating system, Wi-Fi, etc.?

Is a tablet out of the question?

Seems like a tablet might just fill the bill..(unless you absolutely need to run Windows and Windows software).
