[Internet] DNS Servers

Hi everyone,
I have always used a DNS server of my choice, (Originally Level 3 and then Google's) over my ISP's to speed up surfing. Is there any problem with doing that with Fibe?
(In the Sagemcom, it appears that they have a 10.x.x.x DNS, as well as a primary and secondary DNS, which I am guessing is for the IPTV)
Thanks,
Ted

If you do not have Fibe TV, you can use any DNS server of your choice (I recommend OpenDNS - Fastest in Southern Ontario on Bell). If you do have your Fibe TV and encounter issues with a custom DNS server, just switch the DNS back to automatic.

DNS Server Ranks (from me and others):

#1: OpenDNS (best uptime/performance) [208.67.222.222 , 208.67.220.220]
#2: Level 3 (Very Good Performance - Amazing for those on Level 3 Network ) [209.244.0.3 , 209.244.0.4]
#3: Google (Sometimes has caching and uptime issues (surprisingly) [8.8.8.8 , 8.8.4.4]

Or just change the DNS on your device and leave the DNS intact in your Sagemcom.

I periodically run dnsbench.exe to get a speed ranking for several dozen DNS servers and then pick the top 3, which currently are:

66.163.0.173
142.46.128.130
216.183.90.190

dnsbench.exe can be obtained from Gibson Research:

You can run whatever DNS you what even with FibeTV. The two 10.x.x.x will remain the first DNSs and will only be sued to resolved TV stuff. I always use my Unotelly DNS.
