Some websites inaccessibleJust this morning I cannot access certain websites. Costco.com, huffingtonpost.com, even uverse.att.com. Am also seeing reports of this by several people in my neighborhood - 78704 zip code. Many other sites are working fine. Anyone else having this problem? |

Same here on the west coast. Seems like a bigger problem with AT&T. This site works, CNN.com works, but local news sites such as KCAL9.com and bigger sites like Adobe.com do not.
EDIT: I seem to be able to work around it by changing the DNS servers manually on this machine to 8.8.8.8 (Google's DNS server). So it may be related to AT&T's DNS servers.
As a test I went to costco.com (site mentioned in this thread) before I changed it, which did not work. After I changed the DNS servers, the site came up. |

Change your DNS settings to anything other than AT&T's if you need access. Seems like their's are down or slow. |

Thank you!So it's not only me. I've been uninstalling my network card in device manager. Turning anti-viruses off. Etc. Etc. The following sites don't open for me at all: click2houston.com nfl.com imdb.com Facebook opens with just text in a column on the left side of the screen, no images and the rest of the screen white out. Adobe opens with just text too - » www.macromedia.com/suppo ··· l#117717Adobe Flash page won't even open (I thought maybe my Flash needed updating). I tried doing all of the above using both Chrome and Firefox and both browser are the latest version. Trying to do a Windows Update check and I get an code 80072ee2 error, I think that maybe related too. How do I change the DNS settings in my »192.168.1.254/ modem page? |

It's AT&T's DNS servers. So I changed them on 2 of my devices and they work now. I'm not going to change my other 8 devices for now. I may get a different router so I can use my own DNS servers instead of being forced to use AT&T ones. Hopefully they will sort it out soon, if their DNS servers are baked, could be that TV is affected too. I don't have U-Verse TV. |

How do I change the DNS settings in my ยป192.168.1.254/ modem page? You can't. You need to change them in your individual devices network settings |

I cannot get to Ackamai -serviced things including www.akamai.com
A traceroute only gets to my ATT gateway -- the first hop past my home gateway.
Changing the DNS server seems to have solved it. |

Primary 8.8.8.8 and secondary 8.8.4.4 (Google). Maybe do a tracert to a problem site to see where it breaks. By the way... I'm on ATT's DNS servers right now, and can get to all the sites listed in the thread. I am also on the other coast though. |

On AT&T U-verse -- experiencing the same here in Indiana (at least where I am in Hendricks County -- which is west of Indianapolis). Same specific issue reported with Facebook, local news pages opening very slowly or not at all..... |

What is weird is that the URLs got IP addresses. >tracert www.akamai.com
Tracing route to user-att-108-231-0-0.a152.dscb.akamai.net {23.72.82.80}
over a maximum of 30 hops:
1 1 ms <1 ms <1 ms n2 {192.168.1.254}
2 24 ms 25 ms 28 ms gate7a {108.231.0.3}
3 * * * Request timed out.
4 * * * Request timed out.
5 * * * Request timed out.
and that continued. Yet now the same tracert works. Could it have been a non-DNS change that occurred? Here is a more current trace: >tracert www.akamai.com
Tracing route to a152.dscb.akamai.net {65.172.31.18}
over a maximum of 30 hops:
1 1 ms <1 ms <1 ms n2 {192.168.1.254}
2 25 ms 24 ms 24 ms gate7a {108.231.0.3}
3 * * * Request timed out.
4 28 ms 27 ms 27 ms 12.83.43.33
5 26 ms 27 ms 27 ms gar2.clboh.ip.att.net {12.122.132.197}
6 25 ms 24 ms 24 ms ^C
I stopped that one , but it was working. |

That seems to indicate that some routing tables are mangled, either that or some issues with backbone connections. |

Seems OK here in McHenry Il. 60050. Used the google DNS for a hour or so. Went back to dynamic DNS and surfing and page loading seems fine. |
