Strategic NC Markets

I'm guessing the geographically sensible NC markets would be Raleigh/Durham, Charlotte, and maybe the Triad for Comcast. Charter already has stuff on the coast so they just keep the more rural towns for Charter and sell the urban markets to Comcast?

NC is in desperate need of infrastructure upgrades, as well. Time Warner hasn't upgraded the plant in Raleigh/Durham for a long time and they won't be offering 100Mbit here until that happens, more than likely. At least Comcast has demonstrated the ability to upgrade their plant and upgrade speeds consistently, whether they're still evil or not.

What evidence is there that a buy out or merger would improve services? I don't see it, just more "mess" down the road. I agree about the crappy DVR's and guide from TWC, but what specifically would Comcast and/or Charter do to make things better for TWC subs?

Charter's Customer Service record is not good, and Comcast has been referred to as "Comcrap" by it's critics. Unless these companies have proven leadership records for their flagships they don't deserve to be talking about a merger. Charter, Comcast, TWC, they ALL have varying issues of one type or another.

Will comcast kill off SDV? and kill added HBO HD, MAX HD, SHOW HD, STARS HD channels to the match other comcast systems?

get rid of TEAM 2-9 HD and Game 3-9 HD

get rid of goal line HD?

get rid of big ten alt HD?

get rid of pac12 HD out of market?

TWC has more HD then comcast.

TWC is in the process of upgrading to allow for 100Mbps and no 750MHz is enough to do it they are trying to get to 8 downstream and 4 upstream bonding but it takes a while to do all systems nationwide.

On the plus side, Comcast offers 105x20 pretty much nationwide, and 50x10 is rather reasonably priced considering what other cable companies sell (or don't sell) 50x10 for.

I dislike Comcast customer service as much as the next guy, but they're generally superior tech-wise to TWC. Having used both providers for an extended period.

Most of CC's systems are comparable and almost on the same playing field with each others. TWC created swiss cheese services when they went and did their regions and allowed upgrades by them instead of a whole. So you either want better technology and faster Internet or an outdated system and slow Internet.

And there is the crux of the matter. Comcast invests a lot in their network and services. But their customer service is the Achilles heel of the company. They are focused on the CS side, and they are trying to be competitive in markets that they really compete with someone (ie Verizion, AT&T, Dish and direct TV). But they have a long way to go.
