Maybe we haven't gotten 100/5 in NYC yet because they're going straight to 300/20? Certainly hope so!

Indeed! I will be glad when the speeds roll out to other markets, ie DFW area. This is going to drive me to need a new router when it does. I guess I need to get serious about deciding where I want to go with it.

Haha, still only 20Mbps upload. What a joke.

Hooray for monopolies.

If this actually happens, my need for FiOS would drop a bit. Still wouldn't mind a bit more upload but the download speed would be nice.

You mean TWC is finally catching up to where Comcast was 2-3 years ago? Awesome! It's too bad TWC is about to be bought out by someone who's going to immediately scrap these upgrade plans

simply amazing. i really hope it's sooner than later
they do this, why should i switch to fiber. been a customer since TWC launched in 1994. Before that it was called QUICS cable. which i helped in being a stringer for neighborhoods. enough of the rambling. go twc.

I dont think we are ever going to see this. I think its another press release they conjured up. They always throw these press releases out there saying "the end of the year we are gonna do blah blah blah" and it just never comes to pass. I think that 6 tuner DVR is vaporware and doesnt exist

Similar language to the promised "by year-end" upgrade for NYC to 100/5, going into Feb and no word/updates. I won't even think about TWC Maxx or 300/20. They can't even roll 100/5 out on-time.

Interesting, I may have to get a new router.. when they upgrade from 15/1 Meg to 50/5 Meg.. As for the modem I have, it's already a D3 Motorola 6180 with 8 channel bonding.

50 Meg and 100 Meg are available already - locally in Milwaukee.

wouldn't be surprised if they snuck in a few more markets in late 2014 such as Austin TX, and Kansas City KS/MO and maybe even Dallas TX.

Wow, would be nice to jump from 15 all the way to 50. I wonder how this all shakes out though if Charter and then Comcast get their hands on TWC.

Crazy stuff but good, hope that pushes other ISPs in the NYC area too to bump up speeds

All hype but nothing to show. Is D3 implementation even done?

"All hype but nothing to show. Is D3 implementation even done?"

There is an awful lot of discussion about it in this forum if it isnt!

Discussion is not an indication of a project(D3) being done. It's services across the signature that tells.

I am actually worried that this will lead to another price jack. That is what has happened this last several years with each speed increase.

Ok, so I should have said after 5+ years TWC is finally catching up to where Comcast is. Comcast has been bumping speeds every year or 2 while TWC has not and TWC is now having to do a very large jump to catch up. If this press release is not just hot air and if these new speeds do not cause TWC's network to collapse then maybe I can finally stop wishing I lived in a Comcast area.

Almost everyone on this side of the neighborhood can only get up to 6 Meg IPDSL U-Verse internet from them..

I wish I knew what areas were not done, I know the whole North East is. I am assuming LA and NYC is.

I just wish they would finally offer us former Insight Columbus customers 30/5, 50/5. The CMTS I am on has 7 down / 3 up bonding but they still refuse to release the tier saying they are not ready yet.

Hob,

What about TWC-Suburban WNY? Any time table since TWC has a competitor in FIOS.
