Re: Cold and Windy

said by aurgathor:

If you commute, you do not want snow on a work day. While we're highly unlikely to be in situation like Atlanta, things can and do become bad.

I meant that in 'I hope my work would be closed' meaning.

Working from home today, it barely reached 33F yesterday, hardly anything melted; and there's still a chance of freezing rain It's supposed to get to the low 40s today (please!) and stay above freezing tonight so I expect my street will finally be clear (we don't get plowed in the neighborhoods).

Thanks for the pix. We only got a dusting up here. My kids were bummed.

So take them to the passes for a day.

No kidding! It was wide open when I left home, only an accident and long line at MP34 at some point on I-90, then few minutes later total shutdown.

I was lucky enough to be able to reach a place about an hour later where I could go over the median and turn back.

What is this?? Ok, snow on my birthday was great. Still managed to get to the PBR on 2/8 but only because someone else was driving. But really?? This is going to be March. Yes, I realize it's showers, but still....to have that icon in the forecast? I'm about done with this winter.

Apparently, winter is not done with you.

But look at the good side -- we're still much better off than the midwest and other nearby areas. And it comes on a weekend, so no messing with the morning commute.

As per usual, wait a few minutes and the weather/forecast changes. Now it's just wet and cold, but no snow. I hope all the dire predictions for the extreme west end of the Gorge doesn't include me.

But your'e right about being better off. Friends are driving a car back from NYC. They are in Chicago tonight. I'm hoping they stay ahead of the weather.

I actually did get some ice pellets and a bit of snow today (nothing was sticking, though) but the weather is not really *that* bad. At least not in comparison to other parts of the country. »gma.yahoo.com/video/dang ··· 751.html
