Why do we need more accounts to watch TV services online?

HBO, MAX, etc. require separate accounts beside TWC, but ESPN doesn't. How come? It is annoying to have many accounts for these TV services with TWC.

Thank you in advance.

HBO, MAX, etc. want you to use their interface not something from the cable providers.

Hmm, ESPN uses its own but just requires TV service logins.

Its a decision made by the network not Time Warner. When you create an account it gives them an email address to market. In most cases my aps stay logged in anyway so its a moot point.
